January 12, 2013 - Presentation to AAPD Board
Dr. Gila served as spokesperson for her Wharton Business School dental workgroup and presented the team's research to the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) in Phoenix in January. Their task was to explore: What can AAPD do to assure that is oral health policies and clinical guidelines are the de-facto standard of care for children?
October 31, 2012 - Operation Gratitude
We collected 285 lbs. of Halloween candy for our US Troops serving overseas. Several children also contributed touching letters which we sent along with the candy. Thank you for your donations and support. We're looking forward to an even bigger shipment next year!
October 17, 2012 - ADA Office Design Judging
Dr. Gila was selected to participate as one of the dentist judges for the annual American Dental Association Office Design Competition. Here she is in action grading an office project. Just one year before, our office was a contestant.
September 15, 2012 - Coastal Cleanup
As part of our ongoing commitment to our community, our team volunteered in California Coastal Cleanup Day in September. We spent the day cleaning up trash along Larkspur Creek in Greenbrae and Kentfield.
May 26, 2012 - AAPD Annual Session, San Diego CA
Dr. Dorostkar shared her insights into environmental office design in a presentation entitled "Beyond the Blue Recycling Bin", a segment of the String of Pearls event held during the AAPD Annual conference in San Diego, CA.
October 17, 2011 - Marin Pediatric Dental Practice Receives Design Awards
The winners of the 2011 Dental Office Design competition, sponsored by Wells Fargo Practice Finance, were revealed at the ADA Annual Session in Las Vegas. We are proud to announce that our office was selected as both the "Outstanding Specialty Practice" and "Outstanding Environmental Consideration" winner. -more-
September 21, 2011 - UCSF Pediatric Dental Residents Visit
We were pleased to welcome UCSF Pediatric Dental Residents for an office tour as part of their Practice Management course. The Residents visit several pediatric practices in the Bay Area during their training.

May 27, 2011 - Dr. Dorostkar Judges Post-Graduate Competition
Dr. Dorostkar recently had the honor of serving as a judge of the 2011 Research Poster Competition sponsored by the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD). The competition, held at the AAPD Annual Session in New York, highlights post-graduate research in the field of Pediatric Dentistry.
March 28, 2011 - The Marin County Elementary School Science Fair
Dr. Dorostkar volunteered as a judge for the Marin County Elementary School Science Fair. The winners, Amanda Evans and Andrea Shepherd, coincidentally, are both patients in our practice. We're proud of their achievement!
March 2011 - West Hawaii Community Health Center
Dr. Gila volunteered at the West Hawaii Community Health Center Children's Dental Clinic. The Keiki Health Center provides dental care for children with government-funded or no insurance. "I was grateful for the opportunity to participate in the excellent care that is provided for these children."
November 18, 2010 - LEED Certification Completed
The final review for LEED Certification was completed and accepted on November 18, 2010 making Gila C. Dorostkar, DDS, PC, the first privately owned and financed Pediatric Specialistt in the USA to receive LEED Certification for Commercial Interiors. - more -
October 8, 2010 - Fellow of the American College of Dentists
Gila C. Dorostkar, DDS was honored as a Fellow of the American College of Dentists in recognition of her leadership efforts in the field of dentistry at the colleges annual meeting and convocation held in Orlando, FL. The American College of Dentists is the oldest national honorary organization for dentists and was founded on August 20, 1920 in Boston, MA. Membership in theAmerican College of Dentists is by invitation only and there are over 7,400 Fellows, active and retired. Fellows are selected based upon their contributions to organized dentistry, oral health care, dental research, dental eduction, the profession, and society. Only 3.5% of all dentists are invited to become Fellows of the American College of Dentists. - more -
