Gila C. Dorostkar, DDS
Diplomate of the Board of Pediatric Dentistry

Dr. Gila graduated with honors from the University of Southern California School of Dentistry in 1991. After first completing a  general practice residency at the VA Hospital in West Los Angeles, she  completed her pediatric specialty training at the Children's Hospital  Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. Her hospital-based training  emphasized clinical experience in the areas of pediatric dental trauma,  oral conscious sedation, and taking care of children using general anesthesia.

Dr. Gila has been in private practice in Marin since  1997 and is an active member of the dental community. She has served on  the Board of the Marin County Dental Society and has also served as a  Basic Life Support Instructor for its member dentists. Presently, she is a member of the College of Marin Dental Assistant Advisory Committee.

Dr. Gila currently serves as the President of the California Society of Pediatric Dentistry (CSPD), the largest state pediatric dental organization in the USA representing 900+ members and also advocating for the oral health of all children in California. Dr. Gila has held several different leadership positions in the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) as well as CSPD. She presently serves as the Parlimentarian on the Executive Committee of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and was selected as a UCSF Championship Provider Fellow in their 2-year public health program.

In October of 2010, Dr. Gila was inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Dentists in  recognition of her leadership efforts in the field of dentistry, an  honor that is bestowed on only 3.5% of all practicing dentists in the United States. She also had the unique experience of being selected to attend the AAPD Leadership Institute program at the Kellogg School of Management and also the Wharton School's Aresty Institute of Executive Education. The leadership development curriculum and Dr. Gila's participation and collaboration with other AAPD leaders through the two programs has been a personal highlight of her professional career.
