
Walter Fuentes, DDS
Diplomate of the Board of Pediatric Dentistry
Dr. Walter Fuentes is a Central California native who is passionate about making a positive impact on children and families. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry at California State University, Bakersfield before pursuing his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Following dental school, he completed his specialty training in pediatric dentistry along with a Master of Science in Dentistry at the University of Washington, where he trained at Seattle Children’s Hospital.

After residency, Dr. Fuentes returned to California, where he cared for children in Sonoma County through the Rohnert Park Health Center. During this time, he also established a clinical rotation for the UCSF pediatric dentistry residency and has served as a clinical attending for the past four years, mentoring future pediatric dentists in providing compassionate, evidence-based care. Board-certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, Dr. Fuentes is committed to helping children feel comfortable at the dentist while giving families the tools and knowledge to prevent oral disease and build healthy habits for life.

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Fuentes enjoys exploring the outdoors through hiking, kayaking, camping, and backpacking with friends and family. He also loves making lattes for anyone in need of a pick-me-up. In addition, he prioritizes fitness and practices Capoeira, an Afro-Brazilian martial art that reflects his appreciation for movement, culture, and community.
